Dubai Job Seeker Guide
Practical steps for searching, applying, and verifying opportunities in Dubai.
Dubai attracts workers across construction, hospitality, logistics, retail, healthcare, and office roles. This guide focuses on practical search habits and safety checks. Always verify visas, contracts, and employers through official UAE channels.
1. Clarify your target role and documents
Decide which job families fit your experience, then prepare passport scans, certificates, and a clean CV. Do not send originals until you understand who is requesting them and why.
- 1List 2–3 realistic job titles
- 2Update CV with Dubai-relevant keywords that are true for you
- 3Keep digital copies of certificates in a secure folder
2. Search with filters and dates
Use the Jobs page on Try To Apply to filter by country and category. Prefer recent postings and open the original listing source when available.
3. Verify the employer and contract
Confirm company details, work location, salary currency, overtime, housing, and probation in writing. For UAE private-sector rights, read the UAE Labour Law resource and MoHRE guidance.
4. Avoid common scams
Be cautious of agents asking for large upfront placement fees, guaranteed visas without a named employer, or interviews that push for immediate money transfers.
- 1Refuse payment-for-job schemes
- 2Cross-check company names on official registries when possible
- 3Use Report a Job if a listing looks unsafe
5. Plan arrival and onboarding
Only travel after you understand visa sponsorship, accommodation arrangements, and start dates. Keep emergency contacts and copies of your offer letter.
